The idea behind this resource comes from the mastery maths approach. It’s a simple, yet effective, way for children to express their understanding or develop their knowledge of a mathematical operation. It promotes conversations around the mechanics of mathematical operations in a very child friendly way. It could also be used in other areas of Maths. Simply hand it out to your group with either a goal in mind or an open-ended task and see what they come up with. Can be used from any age and up to any age.
